A New Place to Hide Your Books

I promise, I am not really doing some sort of a London thing here... However, I did come across this really neat story tonight about this staircase bookshelf that someone came up with someone in one of these tiny London houses.

I guess when houses are the size of thimbles you have to use every square inch efficiently. What a neat idea!

Building Underground

I am a huge fan of using modern technology to make our world generally more attractive, pretty, etc. I ran into this really cool article today which talked about how current building & engineering techniques can be used to move, well, the ugly bits of our required world underground and out of the way....namely the miles and miles of roads.

Read here: Let's Get Building Underground

I really liked the points in particular about how roads can be SAFER underground due to lack of pedestrians, opportunities for air scrubbing, etc. Way cool... :)

Riding the Train - Life is Complete

Ah... It only takes those little things in life to arrive at completeness when you are 2 or 6 or 7. After church today, Andrea dropped the kiddos and me off at the Virginia Water station so that the kids might enjoy a short train ride, which they have been requesting for weeks.

Here are a couple of snaps while we waited...

Lego Girls

Lego Girls
Lego Girls,
originally uploaded by Paul J. Thompson.
This evening when I got home from work, the girls were majorly stoked to show me this cattle fence they had made around this green field. Go go go, my lovely Lego girls..........

Boats are Cool

My 2 year old son is absolutely fascinated with all things such as planes & trains & tractors & boats. So when I saw this neat tugboat working out the window of the office cafeteria, I has to snap some pics. Enjoy Nate and everyone else. :)

Whoosh!!

Morning world...........

Yesterday during my journey to & fro from Canary Wharf, I collected a handful of cruddy cameraphone snaps. The trip takes a total of 75-90 minutes including walking & change time. For the most part, I generally enjoy the trip.s

Anyhow, this post is dedicated to my daughters who particularly love escalators. If they only knew the size of the escalators I ride each day.

I hope you enjoyed the pics!

And yes, that last one was completely unrelated. :)

Lovely Sunday Lunch

We ended up having a lovely Sunday lunch at a local Chinese buffet. It is the first time we have eaten out for a while and will probably be the LAST time for a while. Therefore, we all very intentionally enjoyed this little moment of joy to the fullest. It was some nice & stress free family time.

REMEMBER to enjoy these little moments every once in a while.

It was a lovely time. I have attached a couple of highlight moments for your enjoyment. I hope you enjoy the pics at least a little bit as much as I did. :)

REALLY Overdue Update

Well, as you can see, it has been way too long since I have updated my little blog. As you can also see, if you can recall from back then, I have changed things up a bit:

  • New address - blog.captbunzo.org
  • Updated the layout using new blogger features
  • New Name, just for fun
Anyhow, welcome aboard, if you are reading this. I am also in the process of attempting to setup more of a real web presence for myself. Specifically that starts here and with sort of a "my online self" page - captbunzo.googlepages.com. I will actually, however, be moving that page (pages?) to www.captbunzo.org and OFF of googlepages as googlepages has really proven to be way to limiting. Hopefully I will actually get to that soon...

One last thing, before I move on. Gotta shout out how excited I am that I finally won a photography contest as an adult. My picture, so pitifully named by myself as Bob, won the Million Dollar Tropical Fish Page photo contest. My prize will be (I believe) a gift certificate for fish goodies as well as my picture appearing in TFH magazine in approximately 3 months or so. Woohoo! :)

Check it out - www.milliondollartropicalfishpage.com/Contest

Anyhow, that is it for the moment.... I have some amusing anecdotes from the 2.5 year old son that are really needing to be shared with someone... I plan on blogging that later today. ;)
